Take Care Doula- Heather McCreary
As a Postpartum Doula/Newborn Caregiver. I work in many different homes in the course of a year. It becomes second nature to 'fit in' with many different styles of families. Before securing my services I meet with you and go over your needs and my services.
How much will a Postpartum Doula cost?
Current prices are $20.00 an hour -day time and $25 an hour - night time . Twins are $25 an hour.
I personally charge for a minimum of a four hour day shift and 8 hour minimum for night shifts. Postpartum care can last for several weeks to several months. Driving time over 30 minutes will be added to my fee.
What if I can't afford the cost?
Relatives, such as grandparents are often glad to pay for this much needed service. Groups, such as coworkers, or friends will sometimes get together to offer this wonderful gift.
Scholarships are available for women who are having serious financial difficulty and are in need of postpartum support.
Who uses overnight services?
Overnight services are used especially in the case of preemies, newborn, twins, triplets, and more. All new families can benefit from using overnight services. In some cases, if the partner needs to be away from the home overnight, the presence of a Postpartum Doula provides this additional support to the mother during this transition period. First time mothers, experienced mothers who already have other children ... it is very hard to function when you haven't received a good night's sleep. Night time hours can be an 8, 10 or 12 shift.
